ABOUT: One of a series of luminous and colorful works, where acid-green patches appear like neon lights in a misty, almost iridescent mauve haze. Aubrun did not depict nature as it is seen by the eye, but rather as it is perceived through light. In Prairie Inondée (“Flooded Meadow”), using a unique technique in which the green patches emerged by brushing off the surface layer, Aubrun created a composition of luminous beams that pierce through the misty pictorial layer.
